I have found toric intraocular lenses (IOLs) to be an invaluable tool in managing astigmatism in my cataract patients. While online calculators are helpful, they do require you to be in front of a computer, limiting the flexibility to explore different wound locations and astigmatic combinations.

EyeToric offers a dynamic solution by allowing the adjustment of wound positions to visualize the effects on lens power and placement. This feature proves especially beneficial for hospitals that may not stock all toric powers or in cases where specific lenses are not available, ensuring versatility when dealing with varying astigmatic requirements.

The application also provides the ability to modify predicted lens power and axis placement to analyze their impact on postoperative astigmatism – a valuable feature if unexpected outcomes arise, aiding in identifying potential causes like lens positioning or preoperative keratometry inaccuracies that may necessitate additional surgical planning.

I find EyeToric to be intuitively designed, especially for professionals familiar with online calculators. Feedback on this tool is encouraged for further enhancements.
